Now that the cold weather is slowly giving way and Spring right around the corner, AAF Reno is beginning preparations for Art Slaves 2011. Art Slaves (Art Slaves Facebook) is now accepting submissions for its 15th Annual Show and Sale, July 7, 2011, from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Artists of all genres are encouraged to submit their work for an exhibit at Urban Beet Café, 50 N. Sierra St., in downtown Reno. Artwork will remain on display for the entire month of July when Reno is Artown.
The public will be invited to view, and also to purchase, all displayed artwork during the July 7th reception; featuring, spoken word performances, live music and libations. This themed event will be based on Le Salon de Refusés – Salon of the Refused – an exhibition ordered by Napoleon III to showcase artists whose works had been rejected by Paris’ official Salon. Art Slaves’ Show and Sale is presented by AAF Reno, the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation. Proceeds will contribute to scholarships for students in the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.
If you are an artist in the media, advertising, printing etc.. industries and would like to enter some of your work you should contact Frank Haxton.
